Abstract

Manual fish feeding can cause difficulties when owners or fish farmers have limited time, particularly in maintaining feeding schedules and consistency. This study aims to design an automatic fish feeder using Arduino integrated with the Internet of Things (IoT) to schedule feeding and enable remote monitoring. The design applies a prototyping approach consisting of requirements analysis, hardware design, software design, system integration, and functional testing. The proposed system consists of Arduino as the controller, ESP8266 as the network interface, an RTC module for feeding-time scheduling, a servo motor as the feed-gate actuator, an ultrasonic sensor for feed-level monitoring, and an IoT application for monitoring and remote control. The system operates by reading time and feed availability, then activating the actuator according to the programmed schedule or remote user commands. The test plan covers schedule accuracy, network connectivity, remote-command response, feed-output consistency, and feed-level monitoring accuracy. This article focuses on the system design and test instruments; quantitative test values should be completed using measurements obtained from the actual prototype.
